When the heart loses its nerves.
Our group investigates how aging and disease remodels the cardiac neurovascular interface, with a focus on endothelial senescence, angiocrine signaling, and autonomic innervation in the heart. Using mouse models, human tissue, and stem-cell–based systems, we aim to uncover mechanisms driving cardiac aging, heart failure, and arrhythmias and to identify therapeutic strategies that restore neuro-cardiac function in the elderly.
